Improve your sleep
Never did I ever think that I would improve my sleep while in the process of doing a home renovation.
But is has happened.
Two weekends ago, my hubby and I decided to paint our master bedroom.
In my mind, I thought this would be a simple & quick weekend project, but like any home renovation, it has take longer than expected.
As a result, we are sleeping in our spare bedroom.
I was thinking that I would not be sleeping as well because as it is, the spare bedroom is crammed with "stuff" from the master bedroom and is just not a very nice space right now.
But the opposite has happened.
I am sleeping like a baby. (Or as some people think, the saying should be "sleeping like a husband" because really, baby's don't always sleep the greatest, but usually our out-to-the-world men do!).
Anyway, how have I improved my sleep by being in the spare bedroom?
Simple, there is no clock in the room!
Typically, I wake up 1-2 in the night and I always look at the clock to see how much time I have left to sleep. A little ironic, I know.
But now, with no clock in there, and no subconscious pressure to check the time, I am not waking up!
Another alternative is to just throw a blanket over your alarm clock so you know there's no way for you to see the time.
So if you find yourself waking up numerous times in the night, here is an action item for you:
Hide your view of your alarm clock for the next 7 days!
You have nothing to lose, and only hours of sleep to gain.
