"You don't need to cook fancy masterpieces. Just good food from fresh ingredients" -Julia Child
Eating well tends to be an area that gets overcomplicated. But this happens to be my specialty.
I like to take the overwhelm out of healthy eating for you and get you feeling as crazy, sexy, cool as TLC (permission to click play and take a dance break).
Remember Cher's automated closet in the 90s cult-hit Clueless? She has pictures of all her items of clothing in a computer program so that she can create a perfectly-matched outfit.
That's what I want you to have.
Except instead of it being a computer with every article of your clothing, I want it to be your mind with tools you can use to reduce stress as soon as it creeps up. And get a MATCH.
I feel like there's a different connotation between the word exercise and movement. While exercise may bring up images of spandex clothing and sweatbands, movement feels more flowy and sensual.
Whichever you like best (I kind of like a combination of the two) it's important to move your body every single day.
You can start by pressing play to the classic 90s song on the right. Get up and dance. Let it allllll out. And feel free to sing along if you'd like:
You gotta be
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser
You gotta be hard, you gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day
“If I asked you to name all the things that you love, how long would it take for you to name yourself?” –Unknown
Personal Growth encompasses a whole lotta stuff. But in brief, when was the last time you did something for you? It could be as small as something like having a nice epsom salt bath with no distractions or as big as going on a tropical retreat.
No matter what, it's all about doing things that make you feel good. Kind of like how you would adorn yourself in stick-on earrings when you were a young girl.
Didn't it just make you feel sooooo good?
What would make you feel that way today?
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
Think about that- are you spending your time with people who lift you up, support you and want to see you grow? I hope so.
Just like our friends at Bayside High... they supported each other! Except for maybe Lisa and Screech. And relationship drama between Kelly/Zach & Lisa/AC Slater.
The majority of us spend at least 8 hours a day working.
Do you like your work? Are you satisfied at a soul-level with what you do?
Don't worry, you don't need to make any drastic changes (like quitting your current job!) to feel better about your work. But what kind of little things can you bring to the workplace to make it feel like you?
If you're not sure what you want to do work-wise, perhaps a paper fortune teller can help you out? Just like it did when you were in Grade 4... Just kidding.
Think back to when you were a little girl. How did you love to spend your time?
Riding your bike with your friends (Now and Then styles), coloring with your Mr. Sketch scented markers, creating crazy designs with your Etch A Sketch?
You had copious amounts of play time. And as a young professional adult, it's important you incorporate this into your modern day life (maybe not using an Etch a Sketch but something that let's you express stour creativity!).
Not to be confused with religion, spirituality is about trusting that a higher power has your back (whether that's God, The Universe, Source, etc...).
The way to foster that trust is by connecting with yourself- through yoga, meditation, being in nature, being aware of energy around, guided visualizations, tuning in to your chakras, playing with crystals and so much more.
Ultimately, it's about knowing that all that you need is already within you.
And just like the excitement you used to feel when you got a new pack of stickers to add to your sticker book, I want to see you feel that excitement every single day.
