The Law Of Attraction in Health & Wellness

Whenever my Mom tends to her garden, she talks to her plants. And let me tell you right now, my mother isn't the kind of person who talks to non-human beings.

But she always talks to her plants.


Because she's observed, over the years, that if she infuses her plants with love,  they will bloom like nobody's business.

So, what does my Mum's garden have to do with your health and wellness?

It illustrates a concept that you can apply now to your daily life:

Your thoughts create your reality.

This is the most important goal of the month to date.

And it won't require you to do anything other than tweaking your thoughts.

Why is this so important?

Because you are what you think.

Literally, your thoughts become your reality.

This concept is known as the Law of Attraction and it  is as true as the Law of Gravity. 

None of us go around and question the Law of Gravity. It just is. And it's the same with the Law of Attraction. You just need to know how to take advantage of it.

As Louise Hay says, "It's as though every time we think a thought, every time we speak a word, the universe is listening and responding to us."

And this couldn't be more important when it comes to your food and body image.


Adjust your thoughts around food & your body.

What does this mean?

Well here are 4 areas to test it out on:

  • Infuse your food with love: Before you eat anything infuse your food with love by saying (either in your head or out loud) "I eat this food with a heart full of love and gratitude". This creates positive energy around you and your food.
  • Drop the Guilt: Whether you are about to eat a beautiful garden salad or a piece of chocolate cake (which many of us view as "bad" and "unhealthy") approach it with the same love and gratitude. If you feel guilty about eating that chocolate cake, you are drawing negative energy to it and you. So don't do it.
  • Reverse the judgments: When you catch yourself judging the gorgeous woman on the beach rocking the hottest teeny-weeny-polka-dot-bikini, reverse that judgment and bless her. I don't mean bless in a religious sense. I mean it in a positive-thought way. Reverse your negative judgment by immediately sending her positive thoughts. This practice of secretly blessing people is even more fun than a night out with your girlfriends spent drinking martinis and dancing to Beyoncé. Promise.
  • Love your body: We are our own worst critic. And it needs to stop. So, when you look in the mirror, and think to yourself "The cellulite on my legs is more disgusting than green ketchup" (it was a thing), counter that thought with "But I love my legs for allowing me to be able to walk my dog". Or even simply tell yourself "but I love my body". You're shifting your energy from negative to a positive, which will in turn affect your body in a positive way.

The funny thing is, my Mum had no idea about the law of attraction up until I told her I was writing a blog post about her and her garden.

She just intuitively did it, and saw the benefits.

So give this concept a try.

Reverse your negative thoughts around food/your body with positive ones. And of course, start talking to your plants.
