Do you remember that first time you heard the Latin phrase Carpe Diem (seize the day)?
It was from the movie Dead Poets Society (starring the late, great Robin Williams).
One of the best lines is when Robin Williams, as a teacher in a private boarding school for boys, tells his students, "Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary. ”
When I first saw this movie I was an impressionable high school student. And the theme of it to seize the day truly resonated with me.
I mean who wouldn't want to live an extraordinary life, right?

And so that's what I want you to take away from this today.
Check in with yourself and get real about what you're doing to make your life extraordinary.
- Taking the time to make a healthy meal for yourself?
- Spending time with someone you love?
- Perhaps going to dance class that you've always wanted to try out?
Truly take the time and think of something you are excited to do today (or tomorrow!) that's making your life extraordinary share it in the comments below.
With that, I leave you with one of my favourite scenes from the Dead Poets Society- all about your perspective on things. (Keep your eye open for a young (but oh-so-handsome) Ethan Hawke!)
Carpe Diem, sister, Carpe Diem.
