Who doesn't love a creamy, delicious alfredo sauce?
This is my quick 'n' easy recipe that gets rave reviews in our household.
I include kudzu in the recipe- this is a highly nourishing root herb, but if you don't have any, you can replace it with a tbsp of arrowroot powder (or thickener of your choice).
But look into kudzu. It's a neat addition to your kitchen!
- ¼ cup butter
- ¾ milk or cream (or mixture of both)
- ¾ loosely packed grated cheddar cheese
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- ½ tsp. sea salt
- 1 tbsp Kudzu (learn about kudzu here) (buy kudzu here)
- 1 tbsp water
In a small bowl, mix kudzu with water to form a paste. Set aside.
Melt butter over medium heat in a medium-sized saucepan.
Add milk and/or cream and whisk.
Add kudzu-water paste and continue to whisk while bringing liquid to a gentle boil.
Once boiling, lower heat to low, add grated cheese and whisk until desired consistency is reached.
Stir in garlic and sea salt.
Serve over pasta (with sautéed mushrooms in butter is my favourite!)
And why not sing along with this choir as you prepare this pleasing dish... Enjoy!
