Summer Reading

book When I was a little girl, one of my favourite things to do was to go to the library (raise your hand if you were/are also a dork).

It was an awesome feeling to be in charge of what books I would take out and spend my time reading (this freedom is a big deal when you're 8 years old!).

Anyway, I've decided to take that feeling of pure excitement and joy from my childhood library days and put that into some recommendations that I hope will get you equally excited for some summer reading.

So here they are. Happy reading!

E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality by Pat Gout

This book will change the way you look at the world. I am currently reading it, and am on experiment 3. It is mind-blowing. You've gotta check it out.

For a relaxing read on the beach...

The Heiresses by Sara ShepardScreen Shot 2014-07-15 at 8.29.07 AM

This book is a cross between Sex and the City and Pretty Little Liars. It's a mystery set in Manhattan with twists that you won't see coming. I admittedly wasn't happy with how the book ended, but nonetheless it was a great read to accompany me on a weekend beach getaway we had earlier this month.

The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks

*Top pick* Does it ever happen to you that everything is going so well in your career, love-life, social-life, etc... and then out of the blue you get a cold? Most likely, you have subconsciously set an upper limit for yourself. This book teaches you how to work through that, and reach your highest potential.

Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple

This book was recommended to me by dear friend Jill, and trust me when I say Jill knows her books. I could not but this book down, and I bet you won't be able to either. Clever, funny and downright great.
